Gift Aid

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is an arrangement that allows charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer. This means every donation will be worth 25% more, at no extra cost to the giver. For example, with Gift Aid the charity can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated, which makes a huge difference.

If you would like to support Kensington Unitarians with Gift Aid, you simply need to complete the below Gift Aid Declaration. Then, whenever and however you donate, we will be able to claim 25% more at no extra cost to you.

If you prefer, you can print the form to complete by hand and bring it with you when you next visit the church.

I want any donations I make in the future or have made in the past four years to Kensington Unitarians (Reg. Charity No. 230789) to be treated as Gift Aid donations.

I am a UK tax payer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations to all charities in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

Please notify Kensington Unitarians if you:

  • Want to cancel this declaration

  • Change your name or home address

  • No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or Capital Gains

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue or Customs to adjust your tax code.
